My mother would be the start of my natural creation journey. Growing up in a Caribbean household there was a natural remedy for everything! I remember times in my childhood where she would send me out into our garden to gather herbs. It was those formative years that inspired the Hyarima Roots victory garden where we grow and cultivate some of our ingredients. 

So, when I became a new mother in 2013, I carried on with that same upbringing. In those first months my son struggled with a skin condition. I tried everything you could think of to help but nothing gave lasting relief. His pediatrician wanted to place him on steroids, and I could not imagine placing my baby on such medications. I had to dig deep in my roots, researched and created formulations; tried, failed, repeat until the successful formulation of what is now my "Skin Balm".
